GDPM Summary

GDPM is different from classical project management in 6 ways

  Focus on the results

  First WHAT?, then HOW?
  Balanced view of people, systems and organization (PSO)
  Changes affect not only the technology, but also the culture (people/ organization)
  Hierarchical arrangement of:
  Plans
  Planning and control processes
  Concentration on the substantial according to the respective level
  Global regulation of the roles and responsibilities
  Discuss and commit to R&R of all involved functions
  Planning as "democratic "process
  Use of creativity and commitment of the team
  Simple but powerful tool for planning and controlling
  "Keep it simple", each plan and report should fit on a single A4/Letter-Sheet

Tools to support GDPM (in the delivery)

GDPM is supported today by a limited set of applications:

  There are pragmatic and efficient Excel solution

  as a "heavy corporate tool" GoalDirector which is based on a 3 tier architecture.

  Another approach is to combine the Excel approach with a project management

software such as "Microsoft Project" to use the task oriented planning and
reporting capabilities of these tools.

  What we missed up to now is a relatively simple tool which basically supports

the GDPM methodology, is easy to install, has flexibility in its configuration
and supports collaborative computing.

   This led to the idea to develop gdpmmastertm
