Table 8.

Total Respondents and Products Offered

Table 8 shows the products offered from breakfast, lunch, merienda, dinner and others

and the number of times the respondents selected those products.

Based on the table, out of the 87 times the respondents selected under the question of

products offered, 26.44% belongs to lunch and 19.54% corresponds to dinner while the 6.90%

belongs to others which corresponds to in between snacks like what they call “late

breakfast(brunch)” or “early dinner”. From the table, we can infer that the food stall owners

prefer to cater lunch the most to their target markets while having merienda as their second most

priority with breakfast and dinner as the third and fourth respectively. This result is due that most

students(as their primary target market) prefer to have lunch and merienda near the vicinity of

the school while having breakfast and dinner at their own homes. Also, most students prefer not

to have a late breakfast or an early dinner so as not to accept their stomach and so food stall

owners also seldom offer products especially suited for such times of the day.

In this table, from the conducted research, it shown that the derived results illustrated lunch time

is the period where students mostly eat. Late breakfast becomes their lunch since some of the

food stall

are not that early to open for accommodating students. Some food stall opens at 8 onwards or

some times in the late noon. Students preferably choose to take breakfast late, maybe past the
hour of 9 or 10 where it can be called as ‘BRUNCH’, combination of breakfast and lunch. Next

is merienda, it is already expected that if it’s not a sit-down meal, it’s not considered as a meal

but rather a snack. We have an early snack which can be in between breakfast and lunch.

filipinos typically take their snack as many as 5. It may be a substitute for breakfast or lunch if

skipped. For the dinner, inasmuch as some of the students come home late from their night class,

probably, they would be taking dinner late, may be past 9. This may be because they’re tired or

insufficient money to avail dinner outside. For the others category that has the least percentage

which pertains to desserts, compared to lunch, it’s not that in demand although it can be one of

the category students can choose from instead of snack.
