GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF PROJECT REPORT

GENERAL FORMAT

1. The project report should be in A4 size paper with margins of 1.25 inch on left side and 1
inch each on all other sides. Total number of pages should not be less than 70 and should
not exceed 100.
2. One and half line spacing should be used in the general text for typing the report.
3. TWO HARD BOUND, ONE SPIRAL, light blue colour of the project reports must be
submitted to the Department and ONE ADDITIONAL project report to be submitted to the
Company(if required). The cover should be printed in black letters and the text for printing
should be identical. Soft copy of the project should be submitted in the form of
CD(Rewritable CD)
4. The project report should use Font style TIMES NEW ROMAN and font size 12.
5. A specimen copy of the Cover Page & Title Page, Bonafide Certificate, Declaration,
Organisation Certificate, Acknowledgement, Contents, List of Tables and List of Charts.
are given in the Appendix
6. The list of tables and list of charts should use exactly the same captions as they appear above
the tables in the text.
7. Appendices are provided to give supplementary information. Appendices should be
numbered using ALPHABETS, e.g. Appendix A, Appendix B, etc.
8. List of References –The listing of references should be typed 4 spaces below the heading
“REFERENCES” in alphabetical order in single spacing left – justified. The reference
material should be listed in the alphabetical order of the first author. The name of the
author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and other details.

A typical illustrative list given below relates to the citation example quoted above.
