PREPARATION FOR SPECIAL PROCEDURES:

IVP (INTRAVENOUS PYELOGRAM) / BE (BARIUM ENEMA)/

ABDOMINAL CT SCAN

FOR ADULT PATIENTS:

Light non-fatty evening meal the day before the scheduled examination.
NPO at midnight
Take two (2) Bisacodyl tablets at 8:00pm and another 3 tablets at 9:00pm
Take two (2) Bisacodyl suppository to be inserted via rectum at 5:00 am
No breakfast

FOR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS:

No preparation is needed unless specified by the radiologist/requesting

physician.
NPO 8 hours prior to procedure.

ESOPHAGOGRAPHY / UGIS (Upper Gastro Intestinal Series)

Light non-fatty evening meal the night before the examination

NPO or nothing by mouth at midnight
No breakfast and 2pcs.bisacodyl suppository via rectum at 5:00 am the day
of the procedure
