PAST SIMPLE – REGULAR AND IRREGULAR VERBS

A. Study the following sentences:


a. I lived in London for a couple of years.
b. Two weeks ago we went on a trip to Gerês.
c. Last year I saw the Niagara Falls and loved it.
d. Did you spend your holidays all by yourselves?
e. No, we didn’t go by ourselves. Some monitors were there too.

1. Underline the form of the verb in each sentence.


2. What tense is this ? When is it used ?

3. What’s the infinitive of the verbs you underline ?

4. Are the forms you underline regular or irregular ? Give examples of both.

5. Write (aff.), (neg.) or (int.) in front of each of them.


6. Rewrite sentence a. in the interrogative form and sentence c. in the negative
form.
