Portfolio Artifact Description: Celebrity Gossip Newspaper- creating a 4 page newspaper using
programs like Microsoft Word or Pages.

What you Learned: Making your own newspaper is a super fun way to be an editor. Finding
gossip is extremely fun specially when it has to do with celebrity. Creating this newspaper was
easier then I thought, well it was easier because it was all a team effort. Having the whole class
find stories and having them all in one place makes it a little more organized and a lot easier
knowing what everyone likes to read. Adding pictures and text boxes are a lot easier now than
with our first projects. I’m still finding new ways to add or rotate a picture or text box making it
a little more creative rather than just a standard paragraph. It was really fun putting it all together
and being able to put what I wanted to talk about as well as what my peers like to read.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This newspaper project is a great way to have
student get crazy about writing, this will have them practicing grammar, writing, searching,
imagination, and spelling skills. This also allows them to be more involved with what is
happening at their school or the world. Having them be editors of a class newspaper or an
individual newspaper is a great way to have them learn social skills as well as keeping them
updated with the world as well as being able to learn what they the student are really into.
