Blasted Earth – Gains +2 POW and a medium AOE, which remains as
rough terrain for one round. Exists for battlefield control, with the
secondary role of picking off high-DEF, low-ARM targets with the
AOE.
Rapid Fire [d3+1] – D3+1 shots. Considering the base POW, this
Circle Orboros attack works well against heavy infantry but can threaten a 'caster
Legion of Everblight given the chance.
Skorne Momentum – Same as the Banshee. Useful to set up hard targets like

Polarity Field – Can't be charged or slammed from its front arc.
Range Booster – If the AFG aims, both it and any myrmidons in B2B get an extra 2"
on their shots.
Battle Engine – Of course.
Newbie Page Gunfighter – The only option it has in close combat.
Faction Overview Construct – No need for CMD checks.

Tournament Analysis The Arcantrik Force Generator provides a variety of battlefield applications significantly
Army List Builders different from myrmidons. Its point cost makes it a prohibitive choice in 35-point games,
Army List Archive especially given that nearly every enemy model will be able to shoot it. However, it can
Theme Forces prove a valuable asset at higher point values. The AFG is, in essence, a highly accurate
Glossary of Abbreviations direct-fire artillery construct, with some support potential through Range Booster. Its huge
base lets it easily block fire from very shooty models, such as Caine2, but conversely means
it cannot hide from ranged fire. Pretty much only other battle engines and colossals can
block line of sight to this monster. Arcanists can help keep the Arcantrik Force Generator
alive, especially if your opponent is trying to whittle its life down over time.

Mk I Archive is that the AFG will often draw attention away from your 'jacks, letting them charge forwards
Terrain Archive if the AFG bites the dust.

A word of caution when facing foes with Telekinesis: Hitting the AFG with a spell is
ridiculously easy, and turning it around to bypass Polarity Field easier still. Just keep your
distance, and kill the arc nodes.

(Incidentally, choosing Rapid Fire, does not let you choose additional types of attacks
when resolving the individual Rapid Fire shots. Ref: PPS_DC Nice try.)

Battle engines all ask about the same question in terms of value for their points. They have
about the cost, armour, and defense of a heavy warjack/warbeast with the damage boxes of
a light. This makes them deceptively fragile—frighteningly so, if the enemy brought decent
tools with them. Battle engines therefore need to be more threatening, or provide more
utility, than a heavy to justify bringing them. The Force Generator is both difficult to kill

(due to Polarity Field) and useful for its long range.

The very attributes that make the Arcantrik Force Generator valuable also make it easy to
misuse. It's expensive, and a lot of those points are going into keeping the model alive. You
pay several times for its survivability: once for the absurd range (meaning the enemy can't
shoot back), once for the high ARM and heap of damage boxes, and once for Polarity Field.
It is almost always going to be your last model standing, as often as not because the enemy
hasn't bothered attacking it for the entire game. It further suffers in the damage department.
It's base POW is equivalent to a four-man CRA from Houseguard Riflemen (or two-man from
Invictors) with a fraction of the mobility with no way to boost its attack or damage rolls. The
AFG is tough and dangerous but suffers from Retribution's tricky synergy and generally
lower-end damage while (currently) being the single most expensive battle engine.

Learning to use the AFG effectively requires developing an eye for terrain and positioning
so you can place it in the best location for optimal battlefield coverage, lines of sight, and
protection. Careful target selection is a must. Unless you're planning to nickel-and-dime
high-ARM models to death, aim for heavy infantry, light warjacks/warbeasts, and similar
targets. Additionally, the AFG's various shots allow you to create other effects. Pinging
only two or three damage on a heavy is disappointing but not much of a problem if your
goal was to strand it in the middle of a rough terrain template. For the AFG's cost, however,
you need plenty of practice to make it worth including.

Warcaster Synergies
Ravyn
Feat – Further increases its accuracy, making it possible to hit nearly anything. With
Rapid Fire, it can potentially move up to 8" due to Swift Hunter.
Snipe – Allows the Generator to aim and fire up to 20", which should be pretty much
anywhere on the battlefield.

Vortex of Destruction – Auto-boosts the Generator's damage rolls against targets
near Ravyn. With the AFG's high accuracy, especially if it aims, this can be a reliable
way of destroying low-DEF targets.
Ossyan
Feat – Increases damage, which is especially noticeable when using Rapid Fire.
Shatter Storm – When combined with Rapid Fire, this can create a significant
number of AOEs to clear out tightly-packed infantry.
Vyros
Inviolable Resolve – This is pretty much Vyros's only direct synergy with the AFG.
Increasing the AFG's already high ARM makes it even harder to kill.
Kaelyssa
Feat – One round of denied shooting helps keep the AFG alive once your opponent
starts to focus on it.
Banishing Ward – An AFG under a spell like Crippling Grasp is a huge, nearly
immobile lawn ornament. Banishing Ward can save the AFG from being nullified by
various debuffs or destroyed by powerful, long-range spells.
Rahn
Telekinesis – Adds escape abilities, the option of moving 2" and still aiming, and the
back strike bonus if its target is turned before the AFG activates.
Force Hammer – Shooting at knocked down targets means that you're very rarely
going to miss. This is most useful when using Rapid Fire (since chances are that
you would normally miss at least once) and Blasted Earth.

Issyria
Feat – Increases accuracy and damage output.
Admonition – Improves survivability.
Inviolable Resolve – As with Vyros1, you probably have better targets for this spell,
but it can keep the AFG alive a bit longer.
