Therapeutic Class: Steroid

Mechanism of action: Loteprednol is a corticosteroid which is thought to

act by the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins, which control
the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation such as prostaglandins
and leukotrienes by inhibiting the release of their common precursor
arachidonic acid.
Indication:
 Allergic conjunctivitis
 Herpes zoster keratitis
 Iritis
 Cyclitis

Key selling message:

 Efficacious and safe for the treatment of post-operative
inflammation
 Highly effective in the treatment of Seasonal Allergic Conjunctivitis
 Has a superior safety profile in comparison with other Steroids

Dosage and application: 1 drop 4 times daily

Therapeutic Class: Steroid

Mechanism of action: Fluorometholone is a topically active corticosteroid. It’s thought to be act
by inhibiting phospholipase A2 protein. Steroids are often necessary for controlling
inflammatory and allergic ocular disorders. But, these are not without risk as they can induce
glaucoma and cataracts especially in longer treatment periods. Soft steroid such as
Fluorometholone 0.1% eye drop is a safer alternative to treat ocular inflammatory conditions
with less likelihood of inducing glaucoma or cataract.
.
Indication:
For steroid responsive inflammation of the Palpebral and
Bulbar conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the globe.

Key selling message:

 It can rapidly and effectively relieve the symptoms and
signs moderate or severe dry eye
 Safer than other corticosteroid in treating inflammations
 It is the steroid of choice for long term use in allergic
inflammatory conditions
 Highly effective in severe vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC)
Dosage and application: 1 drop 2-4 times daily

Therapeutic Class: Anti-allergic

Mechanism of action: It is a topically active antihistamine that
antagonizes both histamine H1 and H2 receptors. Moreover, it has
mast cell stabilizing activity and prevents the release of inflammatory
mediators from blood vessel. It does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier
and therefore is not expected to induce side effects of the central
nervous system

Indication: It is indicated for the treatment of signs and

symptoms of allergic conditions of the anterior segment of the eye.
Key selling message:
 Controlled multiple symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis
 Ensures rapid onset(3 min) and longer duration of action (8 hours)
 Safe and well tolerated in both adult and pediatric patients
 Addresses to all aspects of ocular allergy including lid swelling
