INTERPRETATION & ANALYSIS OF DATA

This chapter presents the interpretation and analysis of the data of the study that
gathered from the Cataning Elementary School

Interpretation

The researchers conduct a survey and found out that Cataning Elementary School is
geared up when it comes in Fire incident and they also have complete equipment like fire
extinguisher, first aid kit, Megaphone, Stretcher bed, Helmet, Spade and Gloves.

Intentional Fires. In conducting the interview, the researchers found out that
Cataning Elementary School has no record when it comes to Intentional Fires.

Cooking Equipment Fires. In conducting the interview, the researchers found out
that the canteen of Cataning Elementary School has a proper cooking equipment and the
cooks in Cataning Elementary School know how to use the equipments properly.

Heat Source Fires. In conducting the interview, the researchers found out that
Cataning Elementary School always secured the tank of gas that students can’t touch and
play it.

Electrical Fires. In conducting the interview in Cataning Elementary School, the

researchers found out that every year they conduct a report about the possible cause of
fire when it comes to electrical fires for example electric circuit, extensions, wires, and
socket.

Fire Extinguisher. In conducting the interview, the researchers found out that every
building of Cataning Elementary School has a fire extinguisher.

Fire Shelter. The researchers found out that Cataning Elementary School has no fire
shelter.
 Structural Hand Tools. In conducting the interview, the researchers found out that
Cataning Elementary School has a different tools for the readiness of school when it
comes in fire incident.

Every year Cataning Elementary School has conducting three Fire Drills to be ready
and assured that every student will know how to do when the fire incidents happen. The
teacher or the principal will be in charge to assist the students. When the fire alarm is
given, teachers will be the one who’ll give warning fire drill to the students. All the
possible cause of fire should be shut down.

They conduct fire drills to represent the preparation and readiness for an urgent
situation of every people in schools.

Every year, they’re conducting a research for a possible hazard that can be happen in
Cataning Elementary School and they do have location map and evacuation plan, this will
be the guide in fire incident. Cataning Elementary School is well prepared for the
possible hazard like fire. They have evacuation area for their students and teachers.

Every building in their school have fire extinguisher and evacuation plan for them to
know how they going to do or where to go in case of emergency. Cataning Elementary
School also have their evaluation form that is given by Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Evaluation Form

An evaluation form is a document which sponsors, donors, client-groups,

administrators, staff, and other relevant constituencies or supervisors used to measure a
subject’s merit, worth and significance with a criteria governed by a set of standards. It is
able to assist a teacher, organization, project, program or any others to access
performance, proposal or any alternatives, to help them make a decision (Edraw, 2018).

The researchers found out that Cataning Elementary School is well-prepared in

terms of different kind of hazards. Cataning Elementary School presents an evaluation
form where the researchers distinguish what type of preparation does Cataning

Elementary School did. Researchers determine the lowest-highest points in terms of
different criteria. Cataning Elementary School got 10 perfect scores in different kind of
evaluation criteria and 6 of this did not have the perfect score. In every year Cataning
Elementary School improving their preparedness in different kind of hazards.

First Aid Kit. A small box containing items such as bandages, plasters, and
antiseptic wipes for use in giving help to a sick or injured person until full medical
treatment is available (Oxford University Press, 2018).

Cataning Elementary School have first aid kit that contains the following;
bandage, gauze, wipes, cotton, betadine, agua oxinada, alcohol, different medicine, tape
and scissors. It is use to give medical help to an injured person. And it is use in case of
emergency.

Megaphone. A cone-shaped device for magnifying or directing the voice, chiefly

used in addressing a large audience out of doors or in calling to someone at a distance
(Dictionary.com, 2018).

Cataning Elementary School have one megaphone. It is important for school to

provide megaphone because it is use to communicate with people or to struct them on
what to do if their life is in danger.

Stretcher bed. A stretcher is a long piece of canvas with a pole along each side,
which is used to carry an injured or sick person (Edraw, 2018).

Cataning Elementary School have one stretcher bed which is use to carrying
person who is injured.

Helmet. Any of various protective head coverings usually made of a hard

material to resist impact (Merriam Webster, 2018).

Cataning Elementary School have six helmet which is use to protect the head
from possible falling object.

Spade. A tool for digging, having an iron blade adapted for pressing into the
ground with the foot and a long handle commonly with a grip or crosspiece at the top,

and with the blade usually narrower and flatter than that of a shovel (Dictionary.com,
2018).

Cataning Elementary School have one spade which is use to digging and create a
hole.

Gloves. A covering for the hand having separate sections for each of the fingers
and the thumb and often extending part way up the arm (Merriam Webster, 2018)

Cataning Elementary School have one box of gloves which is use to protect the
hand.

Data Analysis

The perspective of the researcher for this study is that Cataning Elementary
School is ready when it comes to Fire Incident and they assured that every student will
have knowledge about fire incidents and have complete equipment when this kind of
scenario happens. Teachers and other staff are also prepared if this fire incident will
happen because they’re the one who will guide the students if some circumstances like
this will happen. However, most of the fire accidents occur because of others
carelessness. Every year there are many fire accidents, resulting in a great loss of
property and life. Many of these can be easily avoided if we are more careful, and
observe certain rules and regulations regarding fire-protection.
