mitigation measures.

Flash flood is a sudden local flood that typically occurs due to heavy rain. But there are many
factors that can cause a flash flood which is due to dam or Levee Break or Mudslide, human
activity, low water absorption in the soil.

Type of topography, land-use, the slope of the ground, the location and distribution of the
rainfall, type of soil, soil-water content and the intensity of the rainfall will determine how
fast and where the flash flood will occur.

In Malaysia, most of the flash flood was caused by deforestation and do not have a good
drainage system. To have a good drainage system we need an adequate data for a precautions
step (safety factor) before any worse case would happen but we don’t have the data. So, we
cannot avoid the flash flood but we can overcome the flash flood.

There are many impacts on flash flood because of a flash flood. The most obvious is an
economic factor. All the victim of a flash flood has to bear the damage and loss from the flash
flood such as an automobile, house, furniture, and etc. Next, the government also have to take
out a huge amount of money to help the victim to lighten the burden and help to improve the
drainage system to overcome the flash flood.

To overcome the major problem, we have to find problem from the root.
