Cora Payne worked for the Family Y of St. Thomas-Elgin for several years until as
recently as the Fall of 2017. During that time she worked in several roles all of which were
directly involved with children. Cora was employed as a child and youth programming staff, an
inclusion camp counsellor for children with disabilities, and a day camp supervisor.

In each of these roles Cora excelled in fostering a positive, nurturing, and educational
experience for the children in her care. One of Cora’s strengths is her deep knowledge, passion
and understanding for childhood development. This was a strength that allowed Cora to excel in
her position as a camp supervisor where she created and delivered age appropriate and fun
programming, coached staff on childhood development and appropriate interactions, and
effectively supervised all aspects of our day camp. Her energy, enthusiasm and creativity are
contagious and led to a very fun and successful day camper experience.

Cora continues to be a great advocate of the Y and undoubtedly had a positive impact on
the many children she interacted with. I highly recommend Cora for any position that involves
working with children and youth. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
