How we can use intercultural dialogue as a basis for democratic development


of society?

The multinational character of the state, the ethnic, linguistic, and cultural diversity led to the
necessity of the intercultural dialogue promotion among youth as an element designed to
integrate harmoniously the whole members of the society. Moldova is facing issues in fact of
tolerance towards representatives of various ethnic groups, discrimination on ethnic and
language appurtenance. Intercultural education is a complex process that requires a set of
mechanisms that would contribute in developing communication and inter-ethnic understanding
and in obtaining knowledge on intercultural tolerance. For strengthening democratic principles
and establishing a system capable to correspond to the needs of the entire population the
youngsters should find a way how to use the intercultural dialogue with purpose to facilitate the
discussions and cooperation between the target groups. Propose solutions how can be achieved
the mutual respect, equality and responsibility by creating a common functional framework.
