 How is replication research good for the researcher and good for science?

Replication is good for us:

o To get to know a domain better
o To get to know a theory better
o To acquire practice in the methodology
o To discover useful ideas for extension
o To become a member of an active community

Replication is good for science:

o It contributes to the necessary verification effort
o It helps correct mistakes
o It helps to eliminate or correct messy work
o It helps to detect and eliminate fraud

Why is there so little replication research?

I think exists many reasons some of them are: it is difficult to get replication research
published, also not much people are disposed to pay a replication research, also the
replication is not recognized by others researchers and do not support this kind of
replication. Yet, all too often, the experience is that results of previous research cannot be
replicated.
