PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Please follow the instructions carefully:

Harmonize the given melody and write a second part with variation in melody and
harmony

Stage I

Analyze the given melody and choose a key for it.

Write a chord progression to the given melody.

The harmonic rhythm should be one chord per bar at least and can also go faster.

(Tip: Write a cadence at the end of the part, where the I chord of this cadence
appears in bar 7.)

Stage II

Write a second part of 8 bars where you vary the melody using for instance rhythmic
variation, intervallic transformation and other motivic development tools

The harmony in this second part should include a cadence to the relative minor or
major key.

Stage III

Write a leadsheet with the melody and chords in Sibelius.

Stage IV

Voice lead the chord progression of one part in 4-way close voicing.
