Weld Size for Olets on End Fittings

Issue
Abnormal weld size is seen when olets are placed on end fittings like caps.
The abnormal weld gets created with size corresponding to that of the header pipe.

Environment
Not Environment Specific

Resolution
To correct this, the user needs to define plain piping generic data of second port NPD with first port details (Schedule
and End Standard).

Let’s assume the user needs a weldolet of 200mm x 20mm size and upon placing this component, an abnormal weld
is created at the first port of the weldolet (adjacent to the cap) as shown in the figure above.

To get a normal weld we need to add generic data for NPD 20mm with port details (Schedule and End Standard) of
NPD 200mm.
PipingOutsideDiameter and WallThickness values remain unchanged.

Once the data is bulkloaded, the weld graphics at port 1 come correctly as shown below :

Cause
The weld being created, retrieves the piping port information from PlainPipingGenericData to draw the graphics and in
the case of olets at end fittings, the first port weld needs to be the same size as that of the second port and not as

that of the header pipe.

Hence, the user needs to define generic data of lower sized NPD with the header port details to get the correct
graphics of weld in the model.
