Math Games

I created the set of games below to engage preschoolers in math concepts. These games will promote
number sense and the beginning stages of quantification. Activities like this create a concrete
experience out of an abstract concept such as math. Games such as these create a solid background
knowledge for the learning children will do in kindergarten. The children in my practicum loved playing
these games!

Long Path Game

2+ players, children practice one-to-one correspondence by moving one space for each dot rolled on
the dice.
Short Path Game

2 players, child and teacher (model) this game is a less complex version of the game above where
children will still practice one-to-one correspondence by moving one space for each dot on the dice
Grid Game

2 players, this game uses a 1:3 die, children will practice quantify numbers by taking one cover piece
for the amount rolled on the die.
