The gallbladder stores bile secreted by the liver. Bile is used in digestion to emulsify fats and to
neutralise acids in partially digested food.

The stomach is primarily used to process and transport food. Consumed food is stored in the
stomach were it is broken down into a liquid known as chyme which slowly empties into the small
intestine. Protein is broken down in the stomach using pepsin and peptidase. Gastric juice is
produced in the stomach, gastric Juice contains hydrochloric acid which activates the pepsinogen
