INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
Mosquito transmit serious human disease like
malaria, filariasis, dengue and yellow fever causing millions of deaths every year. Numerous plant products have been reported either as insecticide for killing larvae or adult mosquitos or for mosquito controls. Neem tree (azadirachta indica) native to India, belonging to family meliaceae are fast growing evergreen trees ranging in height from 12-24 m. neem seeds contain azadirachtin, nimbin, nimbidin, and nimbolides are major molecules. Many of these derive products have antifedancy, ovicidal activity and suppression beside insect growth regulation and repellency against insects. Neem seed oil have low toxicity to birds, fish, and mammals and are less likely to induce resistance due to their multiple mode of action on insect. Neem seed is the fruit of neem plant, looks a lot like an olive. The flesh surrounds a seed contains one or several kernel.
