Professionalism x Planning for learning x (Includes knowledge & understanding of content) Implementing and Managing Learning x (Includes behavior management, language and delivery) Assessment x Reflection on Practice x Overview of the lesson: She delivered the lesson well. The length of time used for the discussion was appropriate. She managed to get the attention of the students through storytelling and with the use of visual aids. She was also able to engage the students in working with the differentiated activities with the use of reward system.
Areas for development:
1. Tracing of letters in the air- When Ms. Fatima asked the students to trace the letter Dd in the air, she unintentionally wrote the letters in her direction. She has to be mindful that when facing the children, it should be the mirror image so that they will not be confused with the direction of writing the letters. 2. Since we have children with special needs in the classroom, it is not advisable to give sweets as reward for a good deed because this tends to increase their aggressive behavior.
Focus for next lesson:
She should focus more on the differentiated activities. She should prepare activities that will engage the students longer in doing it and it should be explained thoroughly.
