The Scene:
Long lost sisters meet at IBEROSTAR Dominicana (hotel) while in `Punta Cana when Valeria is
starting her summer job, and Maria is visiting with her family. When Valeria serves Maria a
drink, and someone comments that they look very similar. At first it makes them feel a little
weird, considering the don’t know eachother, but at the same time it makes them curi
ous of one another, considering they are both adopted (of course they don’t know that of each
other yet) BUT it makes them want to talk to each other a little bit more on a less professional
level. Once they get talking and they find out they are both adopted (which they find kind of
weird, cause what are the chances of meeting someone people say kind of look like you, and
also finding out that you both are adopted). After talking to each other for awhile, they find out
that they have a lot in common as well (as far as personal life goes) (by the way, Valeria knows
that she had a sister who was also adopted, but really didn’t ever think much of it until now. It’s
not like her ‘parents’ were secretive about her adoption)) and decide to further investigate and
get a DNA test, just to be sure and they end up finding out that they are indeed sisters.

Script:
Scene One: The Iberostar Dominicana is busy, as it usually is
when school is out and summer is in full swing. Valeria (23)
decided that instead of vacioning, she would be saving up some
more money to go to school, hence why she is working at the
hotel. When we first see her is at the check in/out, ringing
people in and giving them their cards to their hotel room. Maria
Garcia on the other hand is staying in Punta Cana at the hotel
because she is having a little vacation with her family, however
she arrives with her family and checks in to get everything
settled.

Maria:{walks into the hotel and up to the front desk}

Valeria:{Looks up from typing on the computer;smiles}

“Hola, bienvenidos, como estas?”

English: “Hello, welcome, how are you”

Maria:{Smiles}
“Muy bien, y tu?”

English: “ Very good,how are you?

Valeria: “Bien. Le puedo ayudar en algo?”

English: “ Good, is there anything I can help you with?”

Maria: “Puedo tener una habitación para tres?”

English: “ Can I have a room for three?”

Valeria: {Nods; grabs card from desk} “Si, cuantas noches?”

English: “ Yah how many nights?

Maria: “Para la semana, por favor.”

English: “ Just the weekend please.”

Valeria:{Types on computer & hands the cards} “Disfrute de su

estadía.”

English: “ Enjoy your stay.”

Maria: {Smiles} “Gracias!}

English: “ Thank you!”

End Scene
Scene Two: Maria is at the pool, laying on a lawn chair tanning
with her little brother and Valeria approaches with
refreshments, asking all of the guests if they would like to
quench their thirst with an ice cold drink, complimented from
the hotel. When Valeria approaches and asks if she would like a
drink, Maria’s little brother has an interesting comment on the
pair…

Valeria: {Holding a tray of refreshments walks up to the chairs

where they are laying} “Hola, quieres algo de beber?”

English: “ Hello, would you like a drink?”

Maria: {Sits up and smiles} “Si, gracias. Jullian, quieres una?”

English: “ Yes thank you. Jillian, would you like one?”

* Julian walks up and looks at the pair weirdly*

Julian: “Gracias” {looks at pair curiously} {Jokingly says}

“hahaha, ustedes se parecen mucho.”

English: “ Thank you, Haha you guys look a lot alike.”

Maria: {makes a weird face}

Valeria: {Also makes a weird face; looks at Maria}

Julian: {Gets awkward} “Hahahaha, es broma” {Juliann leaves back

to pool}

English: “ Hahaha its a joke”

Maria: {sigh laughs} “Hahaha, no le hagas.”

English: “ Hahaha don't mind him.”

Valeria: {Also laughs} “No hay de que” {turn away with a puzzled
look} “De todos modos, adios y que tengas un buen dia.”

English:
Maria: {waves} “Adiós y tu”

English:

Julian:{Walks back up to Maria} “Por cierto, ustedes realmente

se parecen.”

Maria: {distant look passes over her face} “Cállate.”

End Scene

Scene Three: Valeria is now off work and she decides to visit
Maria with some new found information that she found out after
her day off of work.

Valeria: {walks into the hotel and knocks on Maria’s door(which

she remembers the # cuz she works there)}

Maria: {Opens the door, confused look passes over her face}

Valeria: {look a bit disheveled; but smiles} “Hola”

Maria: {smiles} “Hola, hay algo mal?”

Valeria: {Slight shake of head} “No, bueno no realmente. Podemos

hablar?”

Maria: {Confused} “Uh, seguro. Podemos a fuero?”

Valeria: {Nods} “Por supuesto.”

Maria: {Walks out of the room and closes the door}

Both girls walk down and outside of the hotel and take a seat on
a chair.
Valeria: {Sighs} “Así que tuve el día libre y yo estaba pensando
mucho acerca de lo que su hermano dijo y me hizo curiosidad
acerca de mi historia familiar.”

Maria: {Confused} “Que quieres decir?”

Valeria: “Recuerdas cuando tu hermano dijo que nos veíamos

igual?”

Maria: “Si..?”

Valeria: “Ambos somos adoptados, no?”

Maria: “Si, pero qué tiene eso que ver con algo?”

Valeria: “Recuerdo que mi madre me dijo que mi madre biológica

también tenía otra bebé, y no sé, ¿pensé que tal vez eres tú
...?

Maria: “No lo se, esa podría ser una posibilidad, por no lo se.
Tendría que hablar con mi papá.”

Valeria: {rushed} “No quiero tener ninguna de nuestras

esperanzas, pero se comprueba, ¿verdad?”

Maria: {slight shake of head} “Si, porque sé que mi madre

biológica también tenía una niña antes que yo. Mi padre solía
hablar de eso.”

Valeria: “Entonces…”

Maria: Tal vez deberíamos conocernos un poco más también. Si?”

Valeria: Por supuesto. De donde eres? Cuentame de ti.”

Maria: “Barahona, La Dominicana. Cinco horas de aqui. Uhh, mi

mama y papa me adoptaron cuando yo era un bebé.”

Valeria: “Ah creci aqui. Mis padres me adoptaron también. Soy

alérgico a los cacahuate y las abejas. También soy el único nina
en mi adoptiva familia.”
Maria: {shocked} “Soy alérgico a esas cosas también!”

Valeria: “De verdad?”

Maria: “Si.”

Valeria: “Interesante. Muy interesante.”

Maria: “Tal vez deberíamos intercambiar números y obtener

nuestros certificados de nacimiento para ver si tenemos la misma
madre biológica.”

Valeria: “Buena idea!”

The girls exchange phone numbers and say goodnight to eachother.

End Scene

Dramatic Outro:

Después de unas semanas, las chicas volvieron a encontrarse y

obtuvieron sus certificados de nacimiento.

Descubrieron que tienen la misma madre biológica.

Lo que significa que en realidad son hermanas.
