Prefect
 Voted by school peers and teachers as one of a small number of representatives for the school. This
involved setting an example to other students by upholding the highest standards including uniform, effort
and attitude to school work, punctuality, attendance, adherence to rules, respect and manners.
 Weekly prefect meetings involved taking onboard any school changes and discussing opportunities to
improve pupil morale and school work ethic.
 During the year Prefects organised and ran events for the school and community.
o For example - ‘Breast Cancer Bake Sale’. This included coordinating bakers, arranging the
venue, setup and decoration of the cafe, handling money, serving cake and refreshments to both
the public and other students. More than £700 was raised over 2 days.

Student Council Member


 Nominated by the teachers as the representative for the school year, 3 years running.
 Involved bringing the views of the school year’s peers to each meeting
o For example – The School Cafeteria only provided a very basic food and drink offering and after
consultation with the school council Clarendon Academy reviewed the contractor services and
the school now has a brand new ‘Bistro’ offering a varied selection of food and drink.

Peer Mentor
 Volunteered as a peer mentor in year 10 and 11 to support and coach other school years.
 Assigned 3 students to provide daily 1-2-1 guidance and coaching for school work and any other issues
or concerns as required.

National Citizen Service (NCS)


 Volunteered for NCS which involved a number of physical and mental challenges both solo and as a
team.
 NCS provided an opportunity to learn new skills, meet people, and build relationships, which was a truly
amazing experience.

Worked Monday to Friday before school until GCSE exams. Duties included:
 Selecting and organising papers and magazines to fulfill customer orders.
 Delivering newspapers and magazines to households over a mile radius.
