The student will be able to adding fractions by using samples and write the answers as a
decimal fraction.

The students know how to add two fraction numbers together.
Some students know how to write the fractions.
Some students know the place of denominator and numerator.
Possible Problems and Misconceptions:
- The teacher doesn’t have ability to manage the class.
- Some students don't bring their pencils.

Solutions:
- Teacher should use a special method to manage the class.
- I will bring extra pencils for the students.

Good morning grade 4, How are you, Today I have many interesting activities and I hope you pay
attention with me and if you have any question you may raise your hand. Do you know what the name of
our lesson today? It's called using simples and place value in addition.

Hi Ms. Amal, Iam fine thank you. How are you Ms. Amal, We are excited to work on the activity and we
will pay attention and we will raise our hands if we have any question. Yes, maybe it's about the using
simples and place value in addition
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

- After greeting I will give each group one gem boy include one small card about
the decimal squares of tens and hundred, then the students should write the
answer in their own small board, when all the group done I will choose the first
group to give them one point. After that we will discuss about the answer.

Minutes
- Today we have a new lesson it's called using simples and place value in
addition. I will explain for the students the new lesson and write on the board
questions and I will start to explain for the students. Then I will ask the
students what is the relationship between fractions and decimal fractions? I
will let to students to talk and discuss about the questions then I will listen to
their answers and I will discuss with them. ( 10 Minutes)

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

- Before I start the activities I will say for the students you have to answer the
activity and the first group will finish I will give them one point, and in the end
I will count and see which group will win and will get more points.

- The first activity, I will give each group five ice-cream sticks and each stick
includes one questions. Before the students start doing the activity I will give 20
them the instructions then they can start answer. The questions about write Minutes

decimal number. When they will finish I will discuss with them about the
answer and I will give the first group who done the activity quickly one point.

- The second activity, I will give each group 8 small cards 4 cards include the
questions and the other 4 cards include the answers, and the students should
match each question with the correct answers. When they will finish we will
discuss together about the answer, and I will give the first group who did the
activity one point. ( 5 Minutes )

- The third activity, I will give each group one paper include two questions of
the fractions with the decimal squares of tens and hundred and the students
should color the squares decimal through the answer and they have to get the
answer as a decimal number. When they are finish I will discuss about the
answer with the students, and I will give the first group who did the activity
one point. ( 5 Minutes )

- The last activities, I will give each group one worksheet include word problems
about how you will keep the denominator as 100 and write the answers as a
decimal number, and each group should write the answer on the worksheet.
After that we will discuss about the answers. (5 Minutes)
- When they will done all activities I will let all the groups to count how many
points they get, and we will announce the winning group.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment):

- I have three different colors of the worksheets and each color of the paper
have different questions, and the colors are the red for the high level, yellow
for the low level, the green for the middle level. I will give the students the 10
paper with their levels, they should to answer individually to make sure and Minutes

- I will let them to open their book on page 671 to answer the questions then I
will correct for them the answers. ( 5 Minutes )
