Stimulus Observations
Mechanical There was an observed twitching on the leg muscles. The first pinch on the proximal
end resulted in the twitching of the triceps femoris and peroneus. The second pinch
(distal end) resulted to the twitching of the of the gastrocnemius and triceps femoris.
On the third pinch, peroneus and gastrocnemius reacted. On the last pinch, all of the
leg muscles moved.
Thermal There was twitching on all the muscles upon the application of the heated glass rod.
However, unlike in the mechanical stimulus, there was an observed twitching on the
most distal muscles of the frog (toe and palm muscles).
Osmotic There was no effect on the muscles upon the application of NaCl on the nerve.
Chemical Only the gastrocnemius has twitched upon the application of HCl.
Electrical The electrocution resulted to the movement of the whole leg of the frog.
Observations
Position of Head Normal manner; upright in a 45° angle.
Righting Relatively quick and able to return it upright.
Normal In Water Pulse is faster when compared with it not in water
Reaction to Noise Frog flinched and flipped towards the right.
Firmness of Legs Leg was soft yet showed resistance when pulled.
Eye Response Closed eyes when poked.
Observations
Position of Head Head is laid flat on the pan, unconscious. Eyes are half-closed.
Righting No righting reflex was observed, frog remained flat at its back
Single- In Water Pulsation in the throat area was normal.
Pithed Frog Reaction to Noise There was no reaction to loud noise.
Firmness of Legs Legs were still firm and showed resistance when pulled.
Eye Response There was no reaction.
Observations
Position of Head Head and limbs were flat on the pan.
Righting No righting action
Double-Pithed In Water No reaction to water but there is pulsation.
Frog Reaction to Noise No reaction to noise.
Firmness of Legs Legs are flaccid.
Eye Response No blinking or reaction.
