We have updated this syllabus. The latest syllabus is version 3, published September 2016.

Changes have been made to the front cover and the Availability section on page 9.

Changes have been made to page 3

We have added guidance on Total Qualification Time value (TQT) to page 3. TQT includes both
guided learning hours and independent learning activities. The number of hours required to gain the
qualification may vary according to local curricular practice and the learners’ prior experience of the
subject.

Changes to previously published syllabus document – Version 2 were published September

2015

The syllabus has been updated to clarify the total duration of the Listening assessments, Paper 3
(Core) and Paper 4 (Extended).

Paper 3 has been updated to approximately 40 minutes.

Paper 4 has been updated to approximately 50 minutes.

This information has been updated on page 6.

The amount and demand of the Spoken text in the tests is unchanged.
Changes are indicated by black vertical lines either side of the text.

The specimen papers 3 and 4 have been updated to reflect these changes. There are no other
changes to the Papers.

Section 7 paragraphs 5, 6, 12, 14, 15 and 16 and Section 7.1 were updated.
