PSA Reflection

To begin my PSA I started brainstorming ideas on how to make this video effective and
still look professional. At first I made a story board of my first visual idea for the video and I
later realized it wasn’t as effective as I would like it to be. I figured it would be more personal if
I filmed myself talking in the video. By adding clips from a woman talking about how hard it is to
raise a child where she is from it would give the watchers a feel for who the Global Gag rule is
effecting. I believe that clip was my secret weapon for using all three rhetorical appeals. Logos,
ethos, and pathos appeals were all effective within the first 30 seconds of the video. After that I
started bringing in the statistics for a logos appeal and ended my video with a shot of a woman
saying “that’s just the way it is” to end the video with an ethical appeal.
