Task 1: Diagnostic Assessment Interview

1. What diagnostic assessment has taken place this semester?

In this semester grade one students took part of pictures naming test, to check
criterion for reading and Progressive Achievement Test in Reading and PAT R
spelling test.

This test happened during semester

3. What types of assessments were conducted? (written, oral, practical, etc.)


The test be orally and writing

4. Who developed these assessments?


Assessments were developed by External Educational Organization

5. Who conducted the assessments? (classroom teacher, Arabic teacher, classroom


assistant, etc.)

English teacher whose guide this assessment during English class

6. Were the assessments completed by students individually?


Sometimes teacher assess students in small group, or individually with English teacher

7. What information did you hope to get from the assessments?


The biggest propose for this assessment is to check students improvement during a course in
literacy

8. What decisions did you make based on the assessments?


Students levels changed depends on pm benchmark test. Through the PAT R , we identified
students trouble spots and areas development. Depending on on the results of their scores on
the PAT R spelling test results.

9. How did you group your students? (same/different academic levels, friendship
groups, similar interests, etc.)
Students grouping in English class depending on reading levels in PM benchmarks. This will in
guided reading and understanding activities during small activity

10. Do the groups change for different learning subjects/topics?

Yes, usually students are grouping related to their reading levels to help in guided reading
activities , however students are often grouped based on their writing abilities in different
genres and topics.
