Man Vs Machine

This is the beginning, man versus machine

Where did they come from? It seems like a dream
We are so much weaker, how can we survive
I am now hiding, it's how I'm alive
The sky is filled with smoke, explosions crack like thunder
What will come of man, one just has to wonder
Our numbers decline, before we can fight back
We take too much time, to plan out attack

I headed to the hills, into darkened caves

We're slaughtered like cattle, we'll soon be in graves
I hid there from sight, for more than a day
When I reemerged, the world went away
The sky was filled with smoke, landscapes were charred black
I drew my weapon, there's no turning back
I slid down the hill, ready for a fight
I don't know the future, will I die tonight

This alien world, I used to call my town

Looked completely different, it was upside down
I looked around the corner, my courage disappeared
The sight before me, was worse than I feared
A mechanical demon, ripped apart
One of my friends and, devoured his heart
There's no way out now, so I clench my gun
Man made these machines, my god what have we done

I'll take a stand for man, and fight with the machines
I aim for my victim, I can't let them be
They put up a fight, finally I killed the thing
How many more are there? What will today bring?
I spin around, to absorb my scenery
It is all so barren, not a living thing
Have they killed us all? Are we all gone now?
I went and looked around, I’m the only one

Pulling my hair, I cursed the gods above

I can hear them now, change the crows to doves
Their cries grew louder, I asked the gods why
I drop as electric charges, grace the sky
All faded black, I opened my eyes
I was in a cage, what a surprise
They must have seen me, or heard all my cries
This is not a dream, I finally realize

I stand up again, absorb my scenery

Machines surround, and all are watching me
I drop to my knees, what am I to do
I feel my life drain, out of the blue
Why am I alive? Why am I not dead?
There's many questions, racing through my head
My energy has left, I plunge to the floor
My last conscious thought, surely man is no more
