Dear Alliance School Leadership:
Recently, educators at Alliance Judy Ivie Burton Technology High School. Alliance Gertz-
Ressler Richard Merkin 6-12 Complex, and Alliance College Ready Middle Academy #5, filed a
request for recognition under the Educational Employment Relations Act at the Public
Employment Relations Board (PERB) to join United Teachers Los Angeles. ‘These majority
petitions filed at three schools cover over 100 educators, { wholeheartedly support educators
using their effective voices through collective bargaining to advocate for their students and to
protect and advance quality public education for our communities. I respectfully request that
Alliance honor the PERB recognition of these school units without delay and begin the process
of collective bargaining,
Alliance has developed an excellent set of schools that have thrived on the good works of an
outstanding group of professional educators. These same teachers have also been trying to
organize for several years without success. 1 encourage all parties to set aside past differences
and work together on behalf of the entire Allianee community
Sincerely,
ANTHONY RE!
