May 9, 2018,
the Educational Employment Relations Act (EERA) at the Public Employment Relations Board
(PERB) to join United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA).
‘As the former United States Secretary of Labor, [ have been following the teachers’ efforts for
several years. I am aware that this has been contentious, with multiple unfair labor practices
complaints, and an injunction issued by Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant against
Alliance,
Combined, the petitions represent three schools and over 100 educators. Students in the First
District and across LA County believe in and rely on Alliance. Accordingly, I hope that Alliance
will respect the wishes of these schools and teachers, and begin the process of collective
bargaining and participation in the procedures required under PERB without delay.
‘Yours Sincerely,
Nkdy. J Aotec
