Spain is a country located in the south-western region of

Europe.

Elche is a town located in the comarca of Baix


Vinalopó, Spain. IT has a population of 2 HUNDRED AND
28 inhabitants (ilicitanos ). IN ELCHE, WE SPEAK TWO

LA ALHAMBRA: The Alhambra is a palace and fortress


complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It was
originally constructed as a small fortress on the remains of
Roman fortifications.

The Puerta del Sol (Spanish for "Gate of the Sun") is a


public square in Madrid, one of the best known and busiest
places in the city. This is the centre of the radial network
of Spanish roads. The square also contains the famous
clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve
Grapes and the beginning of a new year.

Sagrada familia: is a large unfinished Roman


Catholic church in Barcelona, designed
by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Gaudí's work on the
building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The City of Arts and Sciences is an entertainment-based


cultural and architectural complex in the city
of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist
destination in the city of Valencia and one of the 12
Treasures of Spain.

ELCHE
Elche is world famous for its cornucopia of palm trees and
the best place to see them would be to head to the
Palmeral de Elche, which is contains more than 11,000
palm trees, mostly date palms.

A few years ago, the bed of the Vinalopó River became an


enormous mural that caused the astonishment and
admiration of all those who contemplated it. In the so-called
'Viper Project' more than one hundred people of all
nationalities participated PAINTING THE RIVER.

ON of the most beautiful beaches in Elche is Carabassi.


There are dunes of fine, golden sand. In the north from the
beach you can see Alicante and its most characteristic
mountain with the castle.

La dama de Elche is an amazing statue that was


discovered purely by chance in 1897 and dates from the 4th
century Before Christ. Some say it was a funeral urn, some
say it was part of a larger statue. Currently is preserved in a
museum in Madrid.

The most typical food in Spain is Spanish Omelette, Paella,


Galician-style Octopus, and bravas, which are fried
potatoes with spicy tomato sauce.

In Elche the typical dish is Crusted rice, made with rice and
meat covered with beaten egg.
Dates are also used in many tapas and dishes.

MYSTERY D’ELX: is a liturgical drama dating from


the Middle Ages, which is celebrated in the Basilica OF
Santa María in the city of Elche on 14 and 15 August of
each year. In 2001, UNESCO declared it one of
the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of
Humanity. It commemorates the Assumption of Mary.
