And so it begins . . .

The torch was lit. The banners were raised. The students were booming their proud chants. That
was witnessed by all during the opening ceremony of the 2012 CIC Intramurals.

Anchored on the theme “I love the world,” the students from the pre-elementary morning
session and grades two, four, six, eight and ten performed their much prepared Dance Palabas on the
first day with high spirits and overflowing excitement. This was followed by a very well executed
presentation by the Martial Arts club members. Then came the high school cheer dancers with their
award-winning smiles and jaw-dropping dance moves which only fueled the crowd’s energy. That ended
the morning of the first day of the intramurals.

In the afternoon, the real fun began. Booths of different varieties opened, attracting the
students who wanted to experience what they had to offer. The games ensued and the athletes broke
their sweat while playing vigorously, trying to win the games for the pride of their grade levels.
Surprisingly, the juniors won every event of that day. It was an amazing feat considering that their
opponents put up a very intense and strong fight. But their determination and talent proved to be their
mighty weapon in obtaining victory in all the games.

With loud cheers and disappointed sighs, the first day of the intramurals came to an end. But
don’t worry; the second and third day is yet to follow with more excitement and surprises in store.

Who will win? Who will conquer the games? Who will come out triumphant in the 2012 CIC
Intramurals?

Wait and see. There is still more to come.
