Re: Michaelle Haughian

To Whom It May Concern:

It has been my absolute pleasure to work with Michaelle Haughian over this past school year at
St. Joseph Catholic High School. Michaelle is an astute, energetic, and flexible team player
whose empathy and dedication to students and their growth is as apparent as her love of
learning.

What impresses me most about Michaelle is her energy and passion in everything she does for
students. I watched her bring activities such virtual reality experiences, collaborative projects,
and special guests including environmentalists, city councillors and war veterans into her
classes and the school to help bring learning to life. Michaelle also liked to take learning into the
community by attending Model UN conferences and environmental conferences, and taking
curricular based field trips that allowed her students new experiences and an opportunity to
shine. I also worked with Michaelle on several of the many student clubs and events she helped
facilitate including book club, maker space club, games club, ASPIRE (an environmental club),
and Read In Week. She excited her students by bringing creativity and enthusiasm to each and
every event. Finally, I had the opportunity to team teach with Michaelle several times over the
school year and watched as she inspired her students learning by providing a great balance of
supports and challenges to engage and motivate them.

During all of these experiences with her, Michaelle was consistently professional, prepared and
proactive in making things happen. She never hesitated to offer her ideas, hard work, or
community connections to improve the school community. The way she interacts with students
conveys Michaelle’s respect of the needs of individual learners and for the outcomes of the
curriculum. Michaelle sets high expectations for her students and herself, yet has the ability to
adapt lessons and to be flexible with unexpected changes in order to ensure student success.

I would really enjoy an opportunity to work with Michaelle again and I wish her all the best in her
future career. She is an amazing teacher!
