Greetings!

My name is Ferdinand Filiplic. I am the Assistant Principal of St. Rose Junior High School.
It is my privilege today to be writing to you as a reference for Michaelle Haughian.

Michaelle joined our staff at the end of August 2020. Michaelle’s position involved
teaching English Language Arts, Honors English Language Arts, Film Studies and Art. By
any measure, Michaelle has been an unequivocal success at our school.

Firstly, Michaelle obtained her position on very short notice. Michaelle, in a matter of
days was able to come in, organize our Art room, plan out the semester and execute the
plans under the most challenging COVID protocols imaginable. I am amazed at the
yeoman effort that Michaelle put in to ensure our students were able to experience Art
this year. Michaelle’s attention to detail and ability to pivot between online and in class
instruction with respect to Art is truly remarkable.

Secondly, Michaelle was challenged with teaching our Honors English Language Arts
students. Again, on very short notice, Michaelle was able to plan an enriched,
challenging, and enhanced program for our honors students. Michaelle’s organization
skills, passion for English and love of the written word helped ensure that our students
not only survived the rigors of the course but thrived! Michaelle’s lessons and
assessments were engaging and of a high standard. Michaelle is also very well versed in
the use of the latest technology and online teacher tools.

Finally, Michaelle is a positive force in our building. Michaelle is a great teacher, but she
is also a great human being. Michaelle always has a smile, and she is always willing to
lend a helping hand whenever and wherever necessary. Notably, Michaelle has taken
on the lead role of our Yearbook committee.

I would not hesitate to have Michaelle on my staff again if the opportunity presented
itself. I wish her nothing but the best in her teaching career.

Sincerely,

Ferdinand Filiplic
