Bird’s Eye View

Definition: A bird's-eye
view is an elevated view of
an object from above.
Worm’s Eye View
Definition: A worm's-eye
view is a view of an object
from below, as though the
observer were a worm. It
can be used to look up to
something to make an
object look tall, strong,
and mighty.
High Angle
Definition: A high-angle
shot is a cinematic
technique where the
camera looks down on
the subject from a high
angle. High-angle shots
can make the subject
seem small or
vulnerable.
Low Angle
Definition: A low-angle
shot, is a shot from a
camera angle positioned
low on the vertical axis,
anywhere below the eye
line, looking up.
Dutch Tilt
Definition: Dutch tilt is
a type of camera shot
where the camera is set
at an angle on its roll
axis so that the shot is
composed with vertical
lines at an angle to the
side of the frame, or so
that the horizon line of
the shot is not parallel
with the bottom of the
frame.
Front
Definition: Where the
person or object is faced
directly toward the
camera.
Back
Definition: Where the
person or object is faced
away from the camera.
¾ Front
Definition: Where the
subject is facing at a 45
degree angle toward the
camera.
¾ Back
Definition: Where the
subject is facing at a 45
degree angle away from
the camera.
Profile
Definition: Where the
subject is facing at a 90
degree angle towards
the camera.
Rule of Thirds
Definition: The rule of
thirds is applied by
aligning a subject with
the guidelines and their
intersection points,
placing the horizon on
the top or bottom line.

Leading Lines
Definition: Leading lines
refers to a composition
technique whereby the
viewer's eye is attracted
to lines that lead
directly to the principle
subject in the image.
Creative Lighting
Definition:
Photographic lighting is
the illumination of
scenes to be
photographed. A
photograph simply
records patterns of light,
colour, and shade.

white photograph is an
image where all color
has been removed
