Politics of 1920s
The politics of the 1920s had a great impact on the American people and on outside
interaction with other countries in its time period. Warren G Harding, who was the president at
the time, lacked the leadership skill necessary to maintain the United States as he prioritized a
likable reputation opposed to an efficient leader. With his weak ruling and lacking knowledge of
foreign affairs he disconnected himself entirely from the outside countries and left all decisions
in the hands of more apt friends of his in similar powerful positions. Due to his weak presidency
however, with the passing of the Prohibition Act, Americans proved that they were going to
strive to do whatever they wanted. Crime rates soared with the illegal selling and serving of
alcoholic beverages at nightclubs and the rise of gangsters. The American people were inspired
to reinvent themselves and enjoy their personal luxuries under the government radar. In fact,
with an introduction to credit, so much spending began taking place out of impulse, aftermath of
World War I, or whatever it may have been that the entirety of the stock market crashed and
Great Depression ensued the people. A time notorious of struggling and hardships for any man
