"Hyde Park Speakers Corner was

Introduce in Thailand”
Posted on 21 Mar, 1955 by Pathanin
Jennarongsak

On March 21, 1955 Plaek

Pibulsonggram introduce speakers corner for Thai
people at Phramane Ground. He really likes how
the speakers corner work, because he wanted
more space for political debate in Thailand.
One day Plaek Pibulsonggram visited London,
UK as a international tour. He has seen a
Speakers Corner, which makes he impressed. This
Sample picture of Speaker Corner that Speaker Corner was in Hyde Park. Hyde Park is a
will be in Thailand. space for free speech which assembly about
political debate. Plaek Pibulsonggram really likes
this “Speakers Corner” and want to have this
when he return to Thailand. Hyde Park Speaker
Corner was instituted at Phramane Grounds in
the middle of Bangkok. According to Atifete
Jahjaga say that "Democracy must be built
ON SALES! through open societies that share information.
When there is information, there is
enlightenment. When there is debate, there are
R $220,000 FORD solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no
rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse,
FAIRLANE VICTORIA corruption, subjugation and indignation." This is
1955 WINSOR a proved that people needed to speak for their
own country to make the country improve. But
the effect might be not good for Thailand, because
Thai’s government is difference from the other.
Thailand government needs too much power and
money, for example corruption. This Hyde Park
is being opposed against government in many
ways. Maybe this speaker corners program will be
denied. This was giving too much freedom to
Thai people so the government did not appreciate
it very much. This attacking Thai political in
many ways. In the country like Thailand giving
too much freedom is not really effective like the
other country do.

West Germany Joins NATO

Posted on May 5, 1955 by Pathanin Jennarongsak

NATO membership is open to any other European state in a position to further the principles
of this treaty and to contribute to the security of North Atlantic area. NATO is committed to the
peaceful resolution of disputes. NATO guarantees the freedom and security of its members through
political and military. “And I think to be in NATO for the countries of our region, it means more
guarantees for us, it means more responsibility for our common security, but it means fulfillment of
all standards of civilized world, like protection of human rights and democratic mechanisms.”
Aleksander Kwasniewski. Gives positive opinion of NATO that is very important for their country.

In May 5, 1955, West Germany joins NATO West Germany formally joins the North
Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the objective of the defense group is to defense Soviet Union
expansion in Europe. During that time the situation of cold war is critical and many country is
afraid including West Germany. American, French and British forces ended their military
occupation of West Germany, which become an independent country. Then Germany was a
member of NATO. On another way, Soviet Union established the Warsaw Pact, a military alliance
between Russia and Eastern Europe including East Germany. The possible effect in this event for
West Germany might be in positive way because the country will be save from the cold war. At least
West Germany had a guarantee the security. In Thai people point of view, it not really that effect
that very much, if it affects Thailand somehow Thai people needed to prepare protect the country
from the war.

Warsaw Pact
Posted on May 14, 1955
The Cold War was a long period of tension between the democracies of the Western World
and the communist countries of Eastern Europe. The west was led by the United States and Eastern
Europe was led by the Soviet Union. The agreement of the communist countries of Eastern Europe
is called Warsaw Pact and the democracies countries in the western world are called NATO.
NATO guarantees the freedom and security of its members through political and military
from Soviet Union and other communist countries. In 1955, the Soviet Union decided to form its
own military club. The Warsaw Pact was a military and political alliance between the USSR and
seven communist satellite nations behind the Iron Curtain. The Soviet Union, East Germany,
Czechoslovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria gathered in Warsaw to create
the Warsaw Pact. (A pact is an agreement.) The Warsaw Pact said that if a NATO nation attacked a
country in the pact, all the Warsaw Pact countries would come to its defense. Which mean that
there are two sides of the countries fight together, they create agreements and alliance to protect
them self. The date the Warsaw Pact was signed was on May 14, 1955 during the Cold War. The
treaty was signed two weeks after West Germany was admitted into NATO on May 5, 1955 with
restrictive provisions for West Germany to form an army. “I am quite confident that in the
foreseeable future armed conflict will not take the form of huge land armies facing each other across
extended battle lines, as they did in World War I and World War II or, for that matter, as they
would have if NATO had faced the Warsaw Pact on the field of battle. “ Norman Schwarzkopf one
US army general. He tries to tell that the agreement between Warsaw Pact and NATO makes
country afraid to each other and try to avoid the huge battle. In the future to face with the conflict
will be indirect. Thai people view this will be a scary event of the world because we know that cold
war is coming and there are totally 2-power notion in control. Thai will support western world
(NATO) because Thailand rule the country by democracies. Thailand has no worried about
spreading communism in Thailand because if communist is spreading, Thailand would be already
joined NATO.
