Queen Anne furniture is smaller, lighter, and more feminine than earlier
styles. This furniture was designed and named for Queen Anne who ruled England
during the 1700’s. Queen Anne furniture has an Oriental influence. This furniture
style has lots of emphasis on line and form rather than ornamentation. Queen
Anne furniture consists of curving shapes, which also add femininity to the
furniture. Queen Anne style furniture has cabriole legs with a pad foot. Chairs of
this furniture style also have a vasiform splat. The furniture also consists of carved
shells and fans.
Chippendale Style Furniture

Chippendale furniture is more masculine compared to Queen Anne furniture.


Chippendale has a Chinese and Gothic influence, Chippendale furniture emphasizes
