Help Those In Need

Your old, unused eyeglasses are a treasure for those who cannot see.

Need Portable Sewing Machines

The 5th & 6th grade girls are in need of portable sewing machines for
Wednesday night, July 9th. They will be learning sewing basics.

Greetings and welcome to Denver First Church. We gather
today with a desire to emphasize several things. First and
foremost, we are here to worship. God has blessed us with
much to thank Him for. Second, we are here to celebrate
the birthday of our nation and the freedoms that we enjoy
as Americans. And that leads us back to worship. We want
to thank God today for the blessings of this nation and the
freedoms that we experience because of where we live.
Finally, we use this day to invite a group of bikers to join us.
With the exception of former military men and women, I
don’t think anyone is more patriotic than bikers. For some
reason, it just seems to be part of the DNA of the group.
This is our 8th Annual Biker Sunday, and across the years
we’ve discovered that those who ride share many common
values. Patriotism is certainly one, but there are others.
They share an awareness of need and a willingness to help
others. They share a willingness to face the road alone and
they often enjoy the solitude. And many of those who ride
(in fact, almost all) understand prayer. We’ve had to pray
often on the bike. It’s a joy to welcome our bikers here
today. We hope you’ve been able to participate in many of
the activities of the weekend. Don’t forget that we have
lunch planned following the service.
One more note. There is no service this evening (neither the
Traditions service, or theClay). I hope you can spend some
time with family or friends.

Piano to Help Missions Project
Put a Jerry Nelson “legacy” KAWAI piano in your home. Almost new, and
performed in two of his “Congo Connection” concerts, the legacy will live on
as the piano’s donor has directed that all sale proceeds be given to the July 6th
