Multicultural Education

In schools before there was not as much diversity due to the racism. Multicultural has

been a reform movement to change the content and process within the schools. We as educators

have to see how multicultural education is progressive approach towards the transformation in

education. The goals towards multicultural education are to underlie the impact of social change.

The way in how teachers are the single most important factor in the children's lives next to the

parents. Besides the relationship of parent with their child, the interaction between teachers and

student constitute the major part of the educational process. . Parents need to teach their children

how they need to respect their culture as the other cultures. We are what we are teaches by

teachers and by parents. I knew that teachers played an important role in the life of children, but

now I understand how much help parents who are the primary caregivers to help educate their

children.

Multicultural in the society that we live in know has been a big impact to younger

children. We see bullying in schools that extend to harm that affects the child mentally and

physically and emotionally. We as educators have to implement other cultural backgrounds in

the classrooms. I know that in the school district I currently work at there is not much

multicultural That is when teachers need to work together to find ways in how to encourage

children to be aware of other cultures that surround them. There are plenty of activities, movies,

and even field trips that could be made to allow children to experience other cultures. As I was

growing up living in a community where more than eighty percent were Hispanics. I was not

aware of other cultures that surrounded us. As I was growing up and started to go different places

that when I came across others how would dress differently and talk different languages. I think

that schools should also implement classes to teach children about other cultures and have guest

speakers as well. We should not just rely on the parents to teach this to their children us as

educators could also get children inform.
