Nutrition

The government of Sri Lanka has been able to provide

free health care of high quality in comparison to most of
the other countries of the region.

Development of these guidelines is an attempt to

improve the quality of clinical care provided in the
health institutions. It will ensure the efficiency, cost
effectiveness and the uniformity of the clinical care
provided in the government hospitals.

I appreciate the efforts made by the Professional

Colleges in producing these guidelines and undoubtedly
this will be an asset to the caring health professionals in
hospitals through out the country.
