Magic Square Project

Part 1

Use Gauss Method to Find the Magic Number

The 9 consecutive numbers chosen are in S1.

S1: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.
S2: 18
28

18 (it is the largest number)

-10 (it is the smallest number)
3x3
8 + 1 = 9 (add 1)
Matrix

9 (28) = 252 = 126 / 3 = 42

Part 2
To make the combinations, use this
Find the 8 combinations easy strategy:

-At the beginning of each combination

18 + 14 + 10 = 42
use the largest number and the
smallest number.
18 + 13 + 11 = 42
-Add the numbers together.
17 + 15 + 10 = 42 -Take the difference from the magic
number and it provides the middle
17 + 14 + 11 = 42 number.

For the combinations use:

17 + 13 + 12 = 42
-The largest number, which is 18,
16 + 15 + 11 = 42 twice.
-The 2º largest number, which is 17,
16 + 14 + 12 = 42 three times.
-The 3º largest number, which is 16,
15 + 14 + 13 = 42 twice.
-The 4º largest number, which is 15,
once.
Part 3

List the number of times each number repeats in the combinations.

Part 4

Place the 9 consecutive numbers into the square correctly.

-The number that repeats 4 times will be the middle of the square.
-The numbers that repeat 3 times will be the corners of the square: 11, 13, 15, 17.
-Collocate the remaining numbers (10, 12, 16, 18) in the matrix so that all rows, columns, and
diagonals add 42, which is the magic number.
