Service
I am a blogger for the Chronicle of Higher Education and for the Huffington Post. I review about twenty
books a year, some in professional journals, including the Quarterly Review of Biology, the Lancet, The
Philosophical Quarterly, and others in more commercial outlets, including The New York Times, The
Washington Post, and the Toronto Globe and Mail. I have written many encyclopedia entries, including
Creationism for the online Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. Regularly, I write short pieces for the
popular press and magazines, including Playboy and the Chronicle of Higher Education. I am on the
editorial board of several journals including Philosophy of Science and the Quarterly Review of Philosophy,
as well as the online Encyclopedia of Life Sciences. I have taken over as editor of a redesigned series in
philosophy of biology (aimed at the student market) with Cambridge University Press/.
