Okay, so our son Daniel’s recent engagement to Keyling Lopez is not

one of the five major projects I wanted to update you on, but it just
might be the biggest news in our family! Keyling is entering her
fourth semester as a student at MSCC and is from Costa Rica in
Central America. She and Daniel are in Costa Rica now as Daniel

Work begins on the new building
The third major project to be updated is the goal to recruit 25 new
students for this fall semester. As I mentioned in the previous
newsletter, this would be a huge step forward for a small College like
ours as it doubles our student body. Several students have been
accepted already, but I would like to ask you to join me in prayer,
especially for new international students.
MSCC is unique in its bilingual program, and we are in the perfect
situation to help train international students, especially Spanish-
speaking students, so they can be more effective as ministers of the
Gospel worldwide.
One of our current students from Ecuador, Luís Coro, told me that in his
country there are no other ministry training colleges from any
denomination. The only option left is the big Catholic university, and
that costs as much as coming here to study. We already have a few
applicants from Ecuador and hope to serve even more.
The major stumbling block for many of these international students is
the lack of funding available. Already, churches in Illinois, Ohio,
Indiana, and Pennsylvania have chosen to help sponsor current students
from the Dominican Republic. Would you pray with us that God would
provide the means for MSCC as an international training center, where
students do not have to learn English first, they can study in their own
language, and where formal Bible and ministry training is offered not
only to the wealthy but for everyone whom God has called.

The fourth major project update has to do with Yoisa’s kitchen. She
has been the cook at MSCC for the last two years, struggling with
Contact Us inadequate facilities. The ladies from a work group from Bethel, Ohio
(and one from Croton), told me just today, “I don’t know how she
Venezuelan Outreach cooks for so many people with that stove!” A major upgrade is needed
if she is to cook for even more students this fall. We hope to install a
new commercial gas stove with its vented hood but are waiting on

The fifth major project involves a return trip to Honduras this

church leaders, along with MSCC President Larry Griffin and his wife
