Dear Editor, You've rejected every submission I've sent. This is my final submission to you. Take it or leave it. Your
time is up. Sincerely, Sam V.
What followed was the most hair-raising horror story that Mark O. Vite, editor in chief of Murders R Us, had ever
read. Blood, conspiracy, and deceit throughout a vastly complicated plot. A writer takes revenge on the editor that
keeps refusing her work. The deceit? The writer was...
"Perfect, brilliant," whispered Mark, amazed at the realistic nature of the fiction. "Clearly the work of a genius!"
The lights dimmed, then faded altogether. In the darkness behind him, a door creaked shut, and the lock clicked.
"The work of a genius," came a silky whisper, "or the work of the hitherto rejected?"
"Samantha? What are you doing here? Why aren't you at home, waiting for me to get off work?"
A flash of steel, sudden understanding dawning in Mark's eyes.
"My god, no, it can't be-"
Obviously it could be, and it was. Samantha A. Vite, now-widow of Mark O. Vite, wiped the blood-stained knife on
her dead husband's pants.
With the grace of a queen, Samantha, aka Sam V., reached over her dead husband's body and stamped her latest -
and last - submission: Accepted!
