MONDAY—EVANGELISTIC PRAYER

Monday, July 23
Luke 2:18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them
by the shepherds.
Majestic Lord:
Make it just like that! I want everyone I tell about Jesus this summer to be
amazed at the marvelous works of God in our church, at Camp, and in souls.
This is important to my witnessing, because holy wonder is so close to true
worship. Overwhelm __________’s soul with the majesty of your glory! Let
even __________ silently adore you!
You are to be witnessed about as Wonderful (Isa. 9:6). Why are you the
Wondrous One? Because you considered your marred creature instead of
throwing the clay away! Because you took it on yourself to be my Redeemer, and
paid a ransom price with your own blood. This indeed is marvelous. Make it
wondered-at among my friends and family who do not know you, because it is a
miracle of grace you would ever forsake your throne above to suffer so humbly
for me below. My soul loses itself in that very practical emotion: wonder.
I pray for that attitude to grow among my lost friends, because it will lead
them to grateful worship at the same time as it constrains me to godly
watchfulness. Make me afraid to sin today against such a love as this, and to
help my lost friends feel the mighty presence of God in the gift of your dear Son!
Make us put the shoes off our feet together before you and in this church.
Give others the same hope I have. Since Jesus did such marvelous things
on my behalf, even heaven itself is not too much to expect. How can I be
astonished at anything less, once I see “he gave all” on the cross? What is there
wonderful left, after I see Jesus bleeding for me? Make me today imitate the
shepherds of Bethlehem, who told others all they heard and saw. Amen.

Deut. 6:6-7 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou
risest up.
MARVELOUS grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was
spilled.
Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold, threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold, points to the refuge, the mighty cross.
Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide, brighter than snow you may be today.
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive?
Grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

TUESDAY—FOCUS ON CHRIST’S MIRACLES
Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 40-42; Psalm 46
Tuesday, July 24
Mark 1:40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to
him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Merciful Savior and Master:
I read how just before this event you had special prayer. You went alone to
the mountainside to commune with God. Today I am alone in my heart, but
wherever I kneel it is the mountain of the Lord to me, because I am stepping
before your throne of grace. I do so for our church, and Camp follow-up. Send
me from here like you went—charged with power to change others. You received
it from heart-contact with the King. I can expect to see wonders. May devils fear
and fly at the presence of your Spirit through me!
Have I seen people in my network of neighbors, friends and family
condemned to hopeless addiction? Some so defiled by sin they spread corruption
as they go. Give even them a confident faith in you because of my witness.
Oneness with you is #wholeness. You can make them whole! Do so now.
Glorious is your power to save! I confess you have all power in heaven and
on earth. For that reason I ask: use me as your tool to work on a cold-case “hard
case.” Is there not someone to whom your grace can prove your all-power today?
I know they want to be delivered! I know they are sick of themselves (and
hate themselves). With heart and soul they want to be free from bondage. Lord,
help them sense how depraved their heart is—even before I speak. By your Holy
Spirit, help them see their unholiness, but how now, our life is Christ (Col. 3:4).
There is no medical or surgical treatment. Yet if the lost will consistently
trust in your character, they can be cured of the cancer of their sin! Why should I
not find such grand faith, even as you did after prayer? Let me find it among my
contacts today, because I ask for it just like Jesus did! Amen.
FRIDAY— CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Isaiah 50-53
Friday, July 27
Psa. 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I
pray.
Oh Lord, We Lift You Up!
Here us again as we cry. Our concern is your cause in our community and
country. We are often puzzled over it. Some days seem neither darkness nor light,
but mixed. Make the light overcome all darkness in our midst!
Raise-up in our church a generation who knows and teaches the truth
of your word. We have so much superficial Christianity—so many professors
without true possessors backing it up. Lord, may our church grow and be built
with precious living stones, not with wood, hay and stubble!
Isa. 50:7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded:
therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Help us so know your word no one can talk us (or beat us) out of it. May
we hold it so tight our faces seem like flint, set against errors of both false
doctrine and counterfeit Christianity. Let us so practice your word, by the help of
your Spirit, our lives are the argument no one can answer!
Along with this, grant our church more power in our Parenting Bootcamp
Wednesday nights. Make us more fruitful in soulwinning (both here and abroad
with “apostles” we have sent). Let us never rest without sowing good seed beside
all still waters. Forgive us our coldness and indifference in the past! Help us be
alive while we are living. Free us from the graveclothes of yesteryear. We want to
leave and mortify the old man, and really live unto you. Make us
Rom. 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
for God’s Eternal Purpose. God, exalt your Son in our midst this summer. Amen.
WEDNESDAY—REVIVAL PRAYING

Wednesday, July 25
† 2 Cor. 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves
from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Holy Lord and Almighty Redeemer:
Holiness, holiness is what I long for! Make my talk, walk, and thought all be
holiness unto the Lord. Many strive for moral virtue, yet do not know Christ. I do
not want to be like them, because only the righteousness of Christ will suffice at
your throne (and at the Judgment Seat of Christ).
Gen. 17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to
Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
I know my holiness cannot come from me, but must be unto the Lord.
Enable me by your grace to be perfect—not in myself—but because I am walking
by your Spirit in sincerity and truth. Help me have no master but you, no law
but your will, and no delight but your way. Maybe this is how.
Prov. 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Take my heart Lord and keep it with you. Only if my heart is right will I be
guarded from going astray! Help me never dishonor my baptism, by which I
preached that I am dead, buried to the world, and alive by the life of Christ. I give
myself away for you to use. Let me not become successful by your grace and then
deteriorate, and even disintegrate after such blessing this summer. Let me not
bear fruit, then become barren in the end, because
Prov. 4:18 …the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more
unto the perfect day.
That is what my spirit desires! I do not want to just talk about it, but be
about it, because that is revival. Make my life start with Christ, end with Christ,
and bring increase to our church. Grant it for Jesus’ own sake and glory. Amen.
SATURDAY—IN THE PSALMS

Saturday, July 28
Psa. 73:1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.
Gracious and Loving God:
I want to admit your overflowing goodness to me this last weekend before
August. You remember both my material and spiritual needs. You lifted me from
the gates of the grave, delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears of
hopelessness, and my feet from falling.
Psa. 119:65 Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy
word.
My soul blesses you today, so listen while I confess how unworthy I am of
all your goodness. I am as sinful as my parents ever were. I have sinned times
without number against you. Even though saved, I have more sin to mourn than
others who are lost, because you make me more sensitive to it. I sorrowfully
confess I have sinned against much greater light than others have. My sins of
pride, of unbelief in your promises, of hasty judgment of your providence, of my
neglect in searching your word and my resultant inability to possess your mind
and process my trials in daily life—my shortcomings make a long list of
accusations against me. But I bless you Lord! that these accusations will not
stand, not now and not in eternity because,
Rom. 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that
justifieth.
All my sin was laid on Jesus by your own hand. Now—washed in his
precious blood and clothed in his spotless righteousness—I know despite my
faults I stand before you accepted in the Beloved! I thank you again for this. My
song begins in humiliation because of my offenses, but it rises to exultation once
I see how I am raised up together with Jesus. Praise him! Amen.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
“Oh,” says one, “I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer.” And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into God’s presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayer—the posture, the
Davaile Durham time, place—rather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
