ABSTRACT

Background : Sectio Caesarea surgery is the delivery of a fetus that has been able to live (along with
the placenta and membranes) by transabdominal through the uterine incision. At postnatal, the high-
quality nutrients needed with enough calories, protein, fluids and vitamins. The phenomena that often
occur in rural communities are the strong influence of culture on foods that are considered good and
should be consumed, can be considered bad for their selves and the babies and should be avoided. The
purpose of the study is to know the relationship between food abstinence during postpartum and perineal
wound healing correlation.

Objective : The objective of the study was to know the relationship between abstinence of certain
foods and the duration of postoperative wound healing process in cesarean section in midwifery room
of Pemangkat Hospital in 2017.

Research Metodh : The research method used is with cross sectional design. The sampling technique
was consecutive sampling in the postoperative patient of sectio caesarea with the sample number 80
respondents. Instrument used in the form of observation sheet of food tableware and process of wound
healing.

Results : The relationship of culture of certain food taboos with postoperative wound healing process
sectio caesarea resulted in P value of 0.000 with a significance value of 0.05. So the value of P <0.05
(Ha accepted)

Conclusion : there cultural relationship of certain dietary restrictions with post operative wound healing
process sectio ceasarea in the midwifery room of pemangkat hospital.

Suggestion : For the nursing profession, the Hospital institutions, for patients post-surgery of sectio
caesarea, and hopefully for the next researcher who has done this research can be put to good use for the
provision of health services in the future.
