State of the Nation Address 2018 (SONA)

The State of the Nation Address is an annual address by the President of the Philippines to a
joint session of the Congress of the Philippines. "About 2 years ago, he solemnly took the oath as a
worker of the national government. He was inspired to institute real changes for the greater good of the
Filipino people," President Duterte opened his speech. He tackle about war from illegal drugs,
corruption, Bangsamoro Organic Law, Marawi Siege, Foreign policy, Overseas Filipino workers,
Contractualization, Coconut farmers, Telecommunications, Boracay closure, Land use act, Disaster
management, Warning to miners, Tax reform, Health and lastly the Federalism.

Drug war of Duterte's banner program gets first mention. He says it will be "relentless" and "as
chilling as the day it began." Slams human rights groups for criticizing the anti-drug campaign.
