METHOD STATEMENT OF TESTING THE CLARIFIER AND FILTER

Method Statement of testing the clarifier and filter

1. Generall statement

The test of new filter/clarifier will involve the shutting down of water supply, this work need to
cooperate with client closely.

The test of new filter and clairifer need to achieve the below requirement.

The output of the treatment capacity is 15000m3/d, The treatment works shall produce
treated water of the follow quanlity with the raw water quality within the average rang given in
the specification and the turbidity not higher that 125 NTU:

Turbidity NTU ≦1

Colour Hazen ﹤5

Iron Mg/l Fe ﹤0.3

PH 7.5-8.5

Odour Non-objectionable

Taste Non-objectionable

Total coliforms MPN/100ML NIL

Faecall coliforms MPN/100ML NIL

Langelie Index ﹥ +0.1

BDOC mg/l ≦0.2

2. Procedure and program

1). On 12th Dec 2015 (saturday), We apply for twice flushing of the new filter/clarifier

Time schedule is 9:00 am-10:00 am and 15:00 pm-16:00 pm (no water supply to town)

If the first flushing is successful, the second flushing is no need.

2). On 13th Dec 2015 (sundat), we excute the test. The time schedule is 8:00 am-20:00 pm

8:00 am-12:00 am (no water supply to town, the period will be ajudted during the test
due to the water quanlity)

All the water will flow into the open air tank and then to the sludge chanel, Because the

water quanlity has not been confirmed.

The water quanlity of raw water/ clairifer water/ filtered water will be tested.

The chemical injection amount will be adjusted according to the water quanlity

12:00 am-16:00 pm (Supply water to town, the period will be ajudted during the test, due
to the water quanlity)

After confirm the water quanlity is acceptable.

All the water will flow into the open chanel and then to the underground clear water tank

The water quanlity of raw water/ clairifer water/ filtered water will be tested.

16:00 am-20:00 pm (Supply water to town ,the period will be ajudted during the test, due
to the water quanlity)

Again, Confirm the water quanlity is acceptable.

All the water will flow into the open chanel and then to the underground clear water tank

The water quanlity of raw water/ clairifer water/ filtered water will be tested.

20:00 pm----

Start using the new filter/clarifier to supply water to town, Contractor start to excute the
rehabilitation works
