TITLE – Manufacturing process of electrode eg, lithium ion capacitor. Steps involved (i) protection
layer formation (ii) etching process (iii) mixture layer formation (iv) protection layer removing.

NOVELTY - Manufacturing process of electrode includes (i) protection layer formation step in which
protection layer is spreaded on one surface of a current collector material and a protection layer having a
predetermined pattern is formed on the other surface of collector material(ii) the surface on which
protection layers having predetermined pattern is etched to form holes in the current collector material (iii)
an electrode slurry is applied through the holes in current collector material to form an electrode mixture
layer(iv) the protection layer from the current collector material having the electrode mixture layer is then
removed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION -
1) Protection Layer from the collector current material is removed by heating and drying the collector current
material at a predetermined temperature and time. The Polyvinylidene fluoride in the resist layers are
decomposed and resist layers are removed to lower the resistance of the electrode. The heating and drying is
performed in vacuum atmosphere to prevent oxidization of the collector current material.2) Protection layer is
formed by applying a resist ink layer all over on the collector current material and drying that material.3)
Protection layer is made of binder same as in electrode mixture layer along with polyvinyldeneflouride.4)
During first slurry application step, the protection layer is spread such that it prevent the electrode slurry leakage.

USE –To enhance the energy density of an electric storage device such as Lithium ion batteries.

ADVANTAGE – this method enhance productivity of an electrode provided with perforated current collector
