MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT


GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Being enrolled at the PLV is a privilege. It involves the student’s voluntary decision and acceptance of the
responsibility pertinent to academic requirements and the norms of behavior stipulated in the University
objectives and policies. To ensure an atmosphere conducive to the formation of a more humane and highly
intelligent individual, students are expected to observe the following:

1. Wear the official I.D. card properly upon entering the school campus. The security officer detailed at the gate
will not allow entrance of students without the official I.D. properly pinned. Likewise, undershirts of students
should be properly tucked. ID validation is conducted upon every enrollment.

2. Fill out forms and school documents correctly. Erroneous information appearing in the school documents done
upon the negligence of the student is his responsibility.

3. Faculty members, school authorities, security officers are authorized to confiscate a student’s ID and other
items/articles for disrespectful behavior.

4. Observe classroom procedures and decorum at all times.

5. Unruly behavior, running along the corridors, playing musical instruments or any activity that may distract an
on-going class should be avoided.

6. Areas exclusively used by female students are off limits to male students and vice-versa.

7. Permission to use the school facilities or any of its equipment can be obtained from the property custodian.

8. All formal reports on student misconduct shall be investigated by the Senior High School Discipline Officer for
proper recommendation to the Committee on Discipline.

9. Students cannot participate in any outside activity e.g. contest, plays, conferences, competition etc. using the
name of PLV or any of its recognized student organizations, without authority from the office of the Vice-
President for academic affairs or the Senior High School Principal. Participation as a private individual and not
as a PLV representative is not covered by this restriction.

10. To foster nationalism and patriotism, students holding morning classes are required to attend the flag raising
ceremony every Monday morning at 6:00am and the flag lowering ceremony every Friday afternoon at 5.00pm.

11. Students before the beginning of their classes should clean their respective rooms and maintain cleanliness
thereof.

12. Meetings and assemblies are permitted after their organizers have secured a written authorization from the
Senior High School Principal.

13. Acts and gestures to other members of the school community such as touching body parts, malicious whistling
at female, indecent body exposure, etc. are strictly not allowed.

14. The student has the responsibility to inform his parents and/or guardian of the rules and regulations of the
university and other consequences arising from his illegal actions.
The following are the Terms and Conditions undertaken by this institution and by its clients:

10 Disclosing or misusing confidential or classified information resulting into substantial damage 4
to school, school authorities and students.
11 Theft and robbery and other form of stealing 4
12 Bringing dishonor to the University 4
13 Gross misconduct in unauthorized mass action 4
14 Fraternizing 3 4
15 Willful affiliation with any unrecognized student organization within PLV 3 4
16 Gross physical assault on another student; Gross physical, verbal, written and cyber bullying 3 4
17 Lending one’s I.D Card/Certificate of Registration form/Library Card for the use of another 3 4

NOTE
*** School authorities, under this provision are person’s employed and are working in the University
** Carrying of any bladed, sharp, blunt and deadly weapon in the campus premises, regardless of the size, length or
intent of the use of the said item; provided that the object prohibited is permitted by their respective Senior
High School Principal concerned; provided still that a written approval/authorization is issued by the instructors
and by the office of the Vice-President; provided finally, that the student carrying any of the items enumerated
logs in/records the instruments brought in the campus with the security officer.

* Final decision is based on the deliberation of the discipline committee who shall forwarded its
commendation to the president for approval and implementation.

The aforementioned Sanctions apply even outside the vicinity of the university as long as the students carry the
identification of the Pamantasan Lungsod ng Valenzuela (e.g. School uniform, I.D. etc.)

Upon completing the sanction/s, the student shall report immediately at the guidance center before attending
his/her class to secure admission slip.
